Boys soccer team brings experience and new faces this season

The PC boys soccer team has started off their season solid. They have a record of 6-4 heading into the second part of the season. They have won games against PCM (6-0), Oskaloosa (3-0), Centerville (9-0), North Polk (2-1), CMB (8-0), and Indianola (3-2).

Coach Gerrit Brouwer’s squad contains some experienced players and new faces as well. Sophomores Kyle Fynaardt and Nathan De Bruin are two returning varsity letter winners on this year’s team. Both players believe the team’s chemistry is their strength. “We come together on the field, but we also enjoy hanging out off the field,” said De Bruin.

Heading into the second half of the season, the team realizes there are some things the must work on if they wish to make it back to state like last year’s team. “Our team needs to work on our communication on the field, ability to create good plays, and our quick passes.” said Fynaardt

The Eagle’s first postseason game is scheduled for May 22.
