Two athletes from PC, freshmen Ethan Milligan and Carson Breon, have had the opportunity to join teams from other schools.

Milligan is on the roster of Pella High’s wrestling team. The season began on November 13. This is his first year wrestling. “My favorite part is learning new moves and combos,” he said.

Breon competes on Oskaloosa’s swim team. He is involved in multiple events, both team and individual. “I swim butterfly in the 200 medley relay, I’m usually a leg in the 200 free relay, and I’m usually a leg in the 400 free relay,” he said. “For individual events, I swim 100 butterfly, 100 backstroke, or 200 Individual Medley.”

Though cheering for a school other than PC is a new experience, both boys have found the transition fairly easy. “I have been swimming with the guys on my swim team for my whole life, because we were all on our YMCA team when we were younger, so I knew them coming into this year,” said Breon. “They sometimes will tease me for going to a different school, but they accept me as one of the swimmers.”

Milligan agreed, saying, “I know most of the Pella guys, and they treat me as if I was a student from their school.”
