The Lady Eagles tennis team has had a great season with a record of 6-1 and winning 2nd in the Little Hawkeye Conference. Of the 10 varsity players, 7 are returning from last year. Seniors Sharlee Fopma, Erica Van Soelen, and Cassidy Bush lead the team as captains. The biggest obstacle this season has been dealing with weather, but with all of the playing experience of six seniors, the team has been able to come out on top time and time again.

“For such a small school, we have had a phenomenal season. Everyone has been working very hard, and I can see that pay off during meets,” said coach Danielle Stubbs.

“I have loved being a part of tennis for the past couple of years, but this year especially, because we have such a strong team this year, and we are all working so hard to be the best that we can be. It has been a lot of fun to grow closer as a team, and it’s been great to see how we are all growing in our tennis skills. I am very proud of all that we have accomplished together this year,” said senior Sharlee Fopma.
