Finishing without a win in the 2018 season, the Eagles bowling team is hoping for better results this upcoming season. Bowling coach Rod Blunck is very excited for this year and is ready for what is to come. “I’m really looking forward to the new bowling season. We’ve only had a few practice sessions, but I’ve seen some really good things in those few sessions,” he said.
The 2019-2020 season has 29 bowlers (18 boys and 11 girls) and 10 returning senior bowlers including senior bowler leaders Austin Van Kooten and Blake Veenstra, who are hoping to lead their team to victory.. Van Kooten is especially ready for what is to come. “I have high hopes for the upcoming season. There are more people on the team than there have been in the past few years. We shall see how much of a difference that will make from last year,” he said.
The PC bowling team is also known for its sportsmanship, not only to their teammates but also to opponents. “They’re willing to work together, help each other and genuinely enjoy being together. When those we’re competing against make a good shot, we usually congratulate those players,” said coach Blunck.
The Eagle’s will kick off their season on December 14 in Oskaloosa at 12:30.
