Five Pella Christian FFA members, along with their adviser Ellie Rethmeier, traveled to Indianapolis for the 92nd annual national FFA convention on Oct. 30-Nov. 2.
Annually, FFA members from all around the country go to the FFA convention. A few key things they do are listening to speakers, going to concerts, and participating in FFA workshops.
The students listened to opening and closing statements from the national officers. They also visited several FFA sponsors in the Expo building and got complimentary items, including a free scoop of Culver’s ice cream.
“I had fun looking at the different Explo classes about different areas of agricultural classes in FFA,” said junior Reyna Worthington. “To anyone who is interested in going next year: I strongly suggest you do it! You will have so much fun!”
Rethmeier hopes that the FFA members who go to the convention are influenced by the experience. “Students are to be inspired, not just by the national officers, but by the career fairs and colleges,”stated Rethmeier.
