Student body eagerly awaits Super Bowl

Many PC students pay attention to professional football to some level, with about 75% having a particular team that they root for, according to a recent survey. The Chiefs, Broncos, Packers, and Bears are some of the most popular teams among PC students, and almost 90% of students surveyed are planning on watching this year’s Super Bowl between the Chiefs and 49ers on Feb. 2.

About half of those watching the game are interested to see who wins, but the other half will be watching for the commercials as well as being able to eat a lot of food at a Super Bowl Party. For those planning on watching the game, over two-thirds will be rooting for the Chiefs, with the other third rooting for the 49ers.

Some Chiefs fans feel their quarterback will perform well in the spotlight. “Mahomes is the G.O.A.T., and I want him to win a Super Bowl while being on the cover of Madden 20,” said sophomore Daniel Andringa.

But those rooting for the 49ers believe that their defense will be able to shut them down. “With San Francisco’s top tier defensive line that can stop the run and put pressure on the quarterback regularly, I cannot see the Chiefs offensive line being able to stop them from getting to Mahomes in Kansas City’s primarily explosive pass offense,” said junior Zach De Vries.
