Even though COVID shocked us all and basically changed our lives over the past several months, we need to keep calm and carry on. Here is how some people’s lives have changed and what they have done to help them stay strong and get through it with Bible verses.
Softball coach Karen Harrill stated that a lot of things were different this year. The verse she uses to keep calm is Psalm 62:2 NLT, “He alone is my rock and my salvation, my fortress where I will never be shaken.” Harrill said, “I know He is in control, and I’m not living in fear – PERIOD.”
Senior Adrienne Vander Molen shared that her family was planning a trip to the Wisconsin Dells that got canceled. Her verse was Colossians 3:2, “Think about the things of heaven, not the things of earth.” She said,” I think that this verse helped me to remember that this won’t matter when we get to Heaven.”
Senior Greta Kelderman stated that the masks and restrictions have changed her life. A verse that has been important to her is Romans 8:28, “And we know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to his purpose for them.”
Sophomore Micah Smith told the Eagles Cry that he wasn’t able to see his grandparents or help the elderly in his church. He likes Matthew 11:28, “Then Jesus said, “Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest.” No matter what happens in life, God will always be there.
These are all great verses. Another great verse is: “For I know the plans I have for you,” says the Lord. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.” Jeremiah 29:11.
