The cast and crew members spend long hours in anticipation and preparation for Joseph and his family to perform. Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat tells the timeless Bible story with some modern twists and turns.

Senior Carson Breon puts it this way, “Well, there is some exciting music in this one, and have fun with it!” This musical is a colorful play on the story of Joseph and his coat. A variety of genres of music help to draw in the audience’s attention. Pharoah takes on the Elvis persona in one scene, and the cowboy boots come out in the beginning of the musical. Mr. Van Peursem is looking forward to “incorporating all the tech and special effects, and costumes for every style of music.”

This year’s musical has presented the cast with some changes due to the challenging circumstances. “We lost many seniors, have a smaller cast, and have a new choir director,” says Breon, who plays the role of Joseph in the musical. The cast is persistent despite the circumstances, and they are all so excited to show you their hard work!

The audience restrictions for the musical have not been decided yet. Seating and the capacity of the auditorium depend on the number of COVID-19 cases in October. “We have great audience support, and we almost sell out all three nights,” says Van Peursem. So make sure that you watch for when the tickets come out because they will go quickly!
