The PC bowling teams wrapped up their seasons at the state qualifying meets on February 17 and 18 at the Dutch 200 in Pella. The boys team finished fifth out of six teams and the girls took seventh place out of the eight teams at the meet.
This past season came with a few concerns for the team. A few months before the season started, Pella Excit-A-Bowl closed it’s doors, leaving no home for the bowling squad. This meant that the team had to practice in Oskaloosa for a few weeks before the Dutch 200 opened in Pella.
Each member of the team took away their own memories from the season. For some it was getting their highest score when it really mattered. Others just really enjoyed the time they got to spend with their friends, as well as making new friends.
The team found strength through their encouragement of one another. “Whenever I would bowl a bad game, my teammates would tell me to keep my head up and move on to the next game. It’s all about building each other up, and not everyone is gonna have a good game every game,” said junior William Spencer.
Although the year might not have ended the way the teams wanted it to, it was still a very pleasant season. “We created a super fun and enjoyable environment!” said sophomore Alexa Klaasen.
